On Valentine's Day...

I don't know if this is being bitter on Valentine's Day... but I thought of this on the way to work:

It was a nice love story (and I enjoyed it) but it's just that... a story.

I don't know if that's too harsh... but it may be some kind of a defense mechanism.

Anyway... 7 years back, I know I have been really hard on one person (who at that time, I really liked)... On the eve of Valentine's Day, he asked me out (He was someone already courting me at least four months then.) but I told him point-blank, "I'm sorry, I already have a boyfriend."

 

Yup, you might say, "How insensitive!" or "How harsh!"... I didn't think of my actions then. I was such a silent killer, maybe even flirty at some point. I replaced him, who was already so special to me that time, with someone much more insensitive to me.  That insensitive someone was more vocal with his feelings so I thought "Yeah, why not?" but that creature was something that only had computers and gaming in its mind.

 

 

 

To the person I hurt, an open letter:

 

 

Dearest friend,

 

I am so sorry for what I have done seven years back. I regret doing it. I really am sorry.

 

If I were to fall in love, I would definitely be hurt if someone did that (or something like that) to me. Maybe it took me seven years to realize how grave that was, but I hope it's never to late to tell you that I really am sorry.

 

I value our friendship and I thank you for always being there.

On a lighter side... today is my Lolo Val's birthday!

 

If he were alive, he'd be 102. On his work papers, he'd be 100! How cool is that? A hundred-year old granddad! :)

 

Dear God got my Lolo a week before his birthday in 1994. He was 88. He was a Lawyer who served the Philippine National Bank as a VP in Visayas (I think). He survived two wives.

 

That's my Lolo... Valentin M. Dulce, Sr.

29. tell her shes beautiful, she needs to know her striving is working.
